YOUNG shoppers have until 2pm today to vote in the Coundown To Christmas initiative brought to you by The Young Witness and Young Shire Council.
The retailer who gets the highest number of votes for their festive shopfront will win a $1000 advertising package with The Young Witness.
And one lucky reader is in with a chance to win $200 if they lodge their entry at The Young Witness or Young Visitor Information Centre before 2pm today.
The initiative has sparked great interest in the CBD, with retailers reporting a larger number of people commenting on their decorative abilities.
Just a reminder our featured Christmas windows so far include… South West Slopes Credit Union, The General Store, Country Providore Cafe, Southern Cross Cinema, Yes Embroidery, Stewarts Jewellers, Connelly’s Office National, Blooms Pharmacy, Native Botanical, Young Workwear Centre, Wilkies Cafe and Wilders Bakery.
Entries are still being called for best decorated house, best street and best rural mailbox in the district.
This online competition is being run, again, by The Witness in conjunction with Poppa’s Fudge and Jam Factory.
It’s the sweetest deal in town – with winners to take home gorgeous hampers courtesy of, yep, you guessed it, Poppa’s Fudge and Jam Factory.
All entries are being featured in a Christmas Lights gallery on The Witness’s Facebook page.
All people have to do is send in the photos of their house, street or, yep, mailbox.
These photos will be posted in a gallery on The Witness’ Facebook site and voting begins. Those votes of course come in the form of “Likes”!
The number of likes is what will win our enthusiastic Facebookers these great prizes.
All competition entrants will have their addresses published in The Witness to encourage people to drive by and have a look.
Winners will be published in the December 24 edition of the Witness.
