Doll sale success for Hillgrove auxiliary

DUE to the generosity of Una Broad, $2500 has been added to the Bega and District Nursing Home Auxiliary funds.

Ms Broad donated her wonderful collection of hand-made and clothed dolls to be sold for Hillgrove House and the auxiliary put on a doll sale and garden party at president Helen Slater’s home recently.

Throughout the day people came to admire the dolls and the garden and enjoy morning and afternoon tea on the terrace.

Not only were Ms Broad’s dolls on show, but other doll collectors brought theirs along to make the display even more interesting.

These of course were much loved by their owners and not for sale.

Elaine Bateman won the raffle of a doll on a chair.

Ms Slater said the day had been a huge success and money raised would go towards eventually purchasing hoists for Hillgrove House.

The hoists cost $10,000 so the auxiliary will be fundraising again in January with its book stall at Tathra, and another doll will be raffled then.
